Fall & Winter Markets

Yes it is still August,
but it has been cloudy all day and
I am wearing a hoodie and drinking tea.
Fall is just around the corner and
I want to make sure that you know exactly
where to find me for some in-person shopping
over the next few months.
Pop over to the 'Events' page for all of the details,
including my first market in Calgary.

Gift Wrapping Fun

I love to get creative with gift-wrapping
no matter what the occasion.
This holiday market season, I stuck with neutral colors for my market displays
and chose some papers that reflected this palette.
I mixed some of my products and some natural and recycled materials as well.

This striped paper and patterned paper are both from HomeSense and cost $4.99 per roll.
Some natural twine, some eucalyptus
and a stamped silver spoon
add some nice texture and shine to the box.

This 'Je T'aime' spoon is tied to the gift with
a scrap of leather.
Look around your home to find some
different materials to recycle;
maybe some denim, velvet or wool.

These two gifts are adorned with vintage chandelier crystals of different shapes. So pretty!
The sparkles and tiny letters in the above photo; and the sheet music paper and
LOVE letters are from Brick & Mortar Living
in New Westminster.

 Want in on a secret?
This kraft paper is actually from a large roll of
Builder's Paper made from 100% recycled paper
available at Home Depot
A 36" roll of 167 feet is $18.47 and is sure to last a long time! My kids love to make large murals with this paper
and I like to use it for gift-wrapping
or to protect the table when painting.
We are on our third year of using the same roll.

The paper is adorned with an one of our vintage hand-crocheted ornaments. These were made from a vintage blanket and are adorned with Swarovski crystals.

Hope this inspired you to get creative, save some money and add some interesting materials to your gift-wrapping.

Spring Inspiration

The beautiful Spring weather over the past couple of days
has inspired us to get working on more of our
'Airloom Art'.
Re-envisioned heirloom holloware with Swarovski crystals, vintage chandelier crystals and silverware.
Beautiful for hanging indoors or outdoors, each creation
is one-of-a-kind.
They make great Mother's Day gifts.

And once again a big thank you to her

Tiny Treasures

I love to include vintage items in our Christmas decor.
Sometimes they are decorations or serving-ware that has been passed down and other times they are trinkets that have been found.

These tiny spoons were found in a box of souvenir spoons that I had acquired last year.
I was actually going to sell them as a set but my boys didn't want to part with them. They are perfect for stirring hot chocolate and eating marshmallows.
Maybe one day, they will become a piece of Christmas magic that the boys will want for themselves.

Friday Favourites

Thought I would do a quick post to show
you some of my favourite Etsy shops.

I love to peruse Etsy for inspiration of all sorts.
I especially love the 'Featured Shop' column on
the Etsy blog.
It provides you with an opportunity to learn more about the makers/curators, their shop processes and their personal motivations. It always interests me to find out how a particular design idea came to fruition and how their shop was started.

Enjoy the eclectic mix below and check out their shops!

Airloom Art Pt. 2

As promised in the previous post,
here are three more styles of our 'Airloom Art'.

I love the idea of using the piece pictured above,
in a nursery or a pretty powder room.
When the light hits the crystals, it really sparkles.

The clapper of this last windchime is made from the bottom of a wine goblet. The windchime itself is a chafing dish and allows space for flowers to be laid in the top.
This piece is quite gorgeous as unique wedding décor.

Which piece is your favorite?

Airloom Art

We are very pleased to share with you
photos of our first batch of 'Airloom Art'.

These wind-chimes had been on our 'to-do' list
for awhile now, and we love how our first collection turned out.

We created each piece using a combination of silver-plate hollow-ware, vintage chandelier crystals, Swarovski crystals and even a little bit of gemstones and copper.
They are all made by hand and one of a kind.

In celebration we held a little photo-shoot in the backyard.
We used a great collection of vintage linens that my mother-in-law had given me to create a romantic tee-pee setting. While we showcased the hanging art outdoors, they certainly look captivating indoors as well.

We will share our other three styles in the next post.
Thank you for stopping by! And yes they are available for purchase.
