Tiny Treasures

I love to include vintage items in our Christmas decor.
Sometimes they are decorations or serving-ware that has been passed down and other times they are trinkets that have been found.

These tiny spoons were found in a box of souvenir spoons that I had acquired last year.
I was actually going to sell them as a set but my boys didn't want to part with them. They are perfect for stirring hot chocolate and eating marshmallows.
Maybe one day, they will become a piece of Christmas magic that the boys will want for themselves.

Afternoon tea with a little treat.
There's something irresistible about
a tiny spoon with tiny letters.

Pinterest Win

Have you seen those hilarious pictures of people's attempts to recreate crafts and recipes from Pinterest, the ones that end with disastrous results?
Often with the hashtag #pinterestfail, or the title 'Nailed It'.

Well today I am not going to show you a fail, but in fact a win!

Pinterest inspiration.

   My result.

I deviated from the instructions slightly and embellished my snowflakes with three extra points. I also made two different sizes as I wanted to fill and add balance to my almost nine foot wide fireplace. I am quite pleased with the result and best of all, the boys love them! These would also look really great hung in the window.

Here is the link for the instructions.

Friday Favourites

Thought I would do a quick post to show
you some of my favourite Etsy shops.

I love to peruse Etsy for inspiration of all sorts.
I especially love the 'Featured Shop' column on
the Etsy blog.
It provides you with an opportunity to learn more about the makers/curators, their shop processes and their personal motivations. It always interests me to find out how a particular design idea came to fruition and how their shop was started.

Enjoy the eclectic mix below and check out their shops!

Recent Custom Work

I thought I would post a few pictures of
recent custom work we have done.
I don't blog often as I find it quicker and easier
to pop a photo up on Facebook or Instagram.
But for those of you not on all the
social media outlets, I will share some photos here ;)

Hand-Stamped Bridal Place Settings

We are pleased to let you know that we are now offering
our six piece bridal place setting as a
whimsical mismatched set,
in addition to our popular heirloom set.

We come across such a variety of beautiful
patterns but often only a few matching.
We love the shabby-chic feel of combining patterns.
The perfect touch of vintage for any wedding.
 Something old perhaps?

The patterns pictured in the photos above include
'Plume' 1935, 'Park Lane' 1936, 'Cotillion' 1937,
'Ambassador' 1919, 'Coronation' 1936, 'Lovelace' 1936,
'Enchantress' 1937, 'Old English' & 'Revelation' 1953.

Airloom Art Pt. 2

As promised in the previous post,
here are three more styles of our 'Airloom Art'.

I love the idea of using the piece pictured above,
in a nursery or a pretty powder room.
When the light hits the crystals, it really sparkles.

The clapper of this last windchime is made from the bottom of a wine goblet. The windchime itself is a chafing dish and allows space for flowers to be laid in the top.
This piece is quite gorgeous as unique wedding décor.

Which piece is your favorite?

Airloom Art

We are very pleased to share with you
photos of our first batch of 'Airloom Art'.

These wind-chimes had been on our 'to-do' list
for awhile now, and we love how our first collection turned out.

We created each piece using a combination of silver-plate hollow-ware, vintage chandelier crystals, Swarovski crystals and even a little bit of gemstones and copper.
They are all made by hand and one of a kind.

In celebration we held a little photo-shoot in the backyard.
We used a great collection of vintage linens that my mother-in-law had given me to create a romantic tee-pee setting. While we showcased the hanging art outdoors, they certainly look captivating indoors as well.

We will share our other three styles in the next post.
Thank you for stopping by! And yes they are available for purchase.

Snail Mail

Inspired by recent reproductions of antique
sterling letter openers, and episodes of 'Downton Abbey'
we present our re-envisioned '...and then again' vintage letter opener, with an added touch of whimsy.

These vintage silver plate knives are unique with their 'Snail Mail' charm and Swarovski crystal. The above photo was influenced by an episode of 'Downton Abbey' where Carson presents Lord Grantham with a letter and opener on a silver tray. Time to make opening your mail, a special event.

We created a limited collection of these letter openers.
A small amount will be delivered this week along with some stamped Father's Day spoons, to our retailers in Vancouver, New Westminster and Tsawwassen.

As we near the end of the school year, these make fantastic gifts for grads and teachers.

Plus they look great on display with your favorite stationery.
